The new media landscape has affected Mississippi Mills.
Mayor Christa Lowry says in 2020, the Town’s peak year for print adverts, 95 thousand dollars went to the local newspaper.
At a recent Committee of the Whole meeting, Lowry said no one could have predicted the closure of the local print edition, nor Facebook’s muzzling of the broadcast industry.
Lowry is a frequent guest on Lake 88, and we continue to provide news from the Municipality on a regular basis.
The Mayor says there are a number of possible work-arounds the print issue, and an extra media person may have to be hired in addition to the one already on staff.
