The bulb-out traffic calming measures, a source of both contention and anticipation, will remain intact on Mary Street, leaving residents who have been patiently awaiting their street’s repaving for over six months relieved.
Spokesperson for a significant number of Mary Street residents, Paul Joyce, expressed their collective sentiment during a recent statement:
Last night, three delegations made appeals before the Perth Council, urging them to resume construction on Mary Street.
Their primary concern was ensuring that the extensive rehabilitation project, which has been ongoing for months, doesn’t come to a halt during the winter months.
Following deliberation, the Council voted to uphold the original plans, keeping the bulb-outs, and allowing the much-anticipated Mary Street paving project to move forward as planned.
