Changes to parkland dedication for new housing developments was on the table at the latest Carleton Place council committee meeting.
The Provincial Planning Act requires municipalities to accept 1 hectare of parkland for every 600 residential units built.
That’s down from 1 per 300, which Director of Development Services Nikki Dwyer notes is a rapid decline.
Dwyer also noted that the town is now getting half of what it would have been able to collect even two years ago.
