As we get into fall, deer are becoming increasingly active, and their behavior can pose serious risks to motorists
OPP Media Relations Officer Jeff Hare shared valuable insights about deer-related collisions – he says it isn’t unusual for them to respond to two or three car-deer collisions a day from now until the end of November.
In the event of a collision, Hare advises drivers to stay composed, pull over to the side of the road, and refrain from exiting the vehicle.
Instead, call 911, and emergency services will provide the necessary assistance.
Warning signs to alert drivers of hotspots for collisions are placed throughout the county – pay special attention in these areas.
