The Upper Canada District School Board has received an influx of funding to boost its special education staffing.
The board’s committed an additional $2.5 million if its ministry of education funding to hire about 25 new special education teachers.
UCDSB Director of Education Ron Ferguson says this is a historic move.
He adds these staff members will be tackling different jobs.
This brings the overall total to 44 new special education teachers to the board in the past eight months.
