Michael Andlauer was openly frustrated Wednesday during the press conference to confirm the departure of Pierre Dorion as general manager.
The new Ottawa Senators owner wasn’t involved in the drama surrounding the Evgenii Dadonov trade to Vegas where Dorion failed to disclose the forward’s no-trade list.
But he says accountability falls into the team’s lap.
Andlauer wasn’t pleased with the severity of the punishment for something that happened before he owned the franchise, but understands a price had to be paid.
The NHL is making the Senators forfeit a first round pick in one of the next three drafts as punishment.
President of Hockey Operations Steve Staios has been named interim GM.
