Lanark Highlands was successful in their Ontario Trillium Capital funding grant.
They’ll receive $150,000 from the province to complete two rehabilitation projects at the Clyde Memorial Baseball Diamond in the Village of Lanark.
Manager of Facilities / Community Affairs Chelsea Rath tells Lake 88 one of their areas of focus will be enhancing player and spectator safety by replacing and extending the existing fencing.
They’ll also be rehabbing the infield to fix the ongoing drainage issues they’ve battled for years, causing the field to flood after rainstorms and the cancellation of games throughout the past few summers.
They hope to have both projects completed by next May ahead of the 2024 baseball season.
