Brent Sullivan is not pleased with what he’s seen from the Carleton Place Canadians this season.
The owner and general manager wants to see some consistency and accountability from the group that’s lost five in a row and eight of their last 10 heading into Friday night’s game against the Navan Grads.
The Canadians currently sit in fourth place in the Robinson Division, with a record of 8-9-2 across 19 games.
Sullivan says expectations for this team was to have a deep playoff run, and things need to change to get them back on track.
He also says discipline has been an issue. The Canadians have accrued the most penalty minutes in their division and second most in the league with 307.
They’ve also allowed the second-most goals in the CCHL with 80, ahead of only the Brockville Braves, who have won just one of their 18 games.
Sullivan has belief in his goaltenders Jackson Pundyk and Ian Vandenberg, but says their season so far is a microcosm to what he’s seen across the team.
Pundyk is 4-4 with an 0.876 sv% and 4.06 Goals Against Average (GAA). Vandenberg is 3-4-2 with an 0.881 sv% and 3.86 GAA.
Sullivan said there are significant changes heading into tonight’s contest against the Grads but wouldn’t publicly confirm what they were.
Puck drop tonight at the Carleton Place Arena is 7:45.
