A good sleep hygiene is an increase in academic achievement, school attendance and better physical and mental health for students.
For these reasons, the Upper Canada District School Board is considering changing to early start times for elementary students, and later start times for secondary school students.
The consultations are happening on November 27th at Smiths Falls District Collegiate Institute, and on the 29th at Tagwi Secondary School in Avonmore.
They’ll feature a panel of local doctors and experts explaining the reasons for the proposed change, and attendees will be able to give their feedback on the idea.
A virtual session will also occur next month on the UCDSB YouTube Channel.
