
A tentative deals has been reached between the province and the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario, which if passed will avoid strike action.
While specific details are expected later Thursday on what the three year deal will look like, there’s cause for celebration that school will not be interrupted.

Peter Lindsay said there’s a shared sense of relief for parents, faculty, and students that this process won’t be dragged on further.
At the time 95% of ETFO members voted in favour of strike action, they sought a 1% annual salary increase plus a cost of living adjustment, while the province countered with a 1.25% salary increase for each year of the deal.
Education Minister Stephen Lecce said some of the issues will be moving ahead to binding arbitration while others have been resolved.
