The ground has been broken at Costello Drive, the future home of the Carleton Place Regional Health Hub.
The Hub will expand the catchment area of The Ottawa Valley Family Health Team, or OVFHT, to over 36,000, helping more people find a physician.
OVHT CEO Peter Hamer said the planning and construction process continues.
Phase 1 of the hub is slated to open next fall.
For now, OVFHT is operating out of the McNeely Medical Clinic
Hamer says their focus will be on serving not only Carleton Place, but the surrounding rural communities to fill an existing gap in healthcare options.
