We are expecting some winter, snowy weather Sunday afternoon, in what could be the first significant snowfall of the season.
That has the OPP reminding you to please be careful if you head out, and be prepared. If you absolutely must drive when the storm is at its worst please ensure you have an emergency kit in your car.
OPP Constable Joe Tereshuck has a few items that are must-haves.
Also pack food and water even if it’s a short trip.
If you get into a minor collision or slide into the ditch and aren’t hurt, you could be waiting a while too.
When driving keep your speed down and a safe distance between you and other drivers. Also, clean all snow off your car before you head out.
But if you do not have to head out, the OPP says stay home and hunker down.
