You can’t use a turbo blower to make lemonade, but those purchased by Mississippi Mills for the Town’s waste water treatment plant are as odious as biting into the bitter fruit.
The municipality is having to spend 527,313 dollars to replace three defective turbo blowers bought new in 2011.
The blowers bought back then were made in Korea, and difficulties in their operation, and the availability of parts was quickly evident.
Public Works Director Cory Smith’s analogy is that hindsight is 20/20.
Smith used the analogy of purchasing a lemon- and said obtaining parts is like looking for an alternator for a De Soto.
