It’s the end of a long and fulfilling career for Smiths Falls Police Chief Mark MacGillivray.
Although his retirement announcement came earlier this summer, it wasn’t until last week did he have his final police board meeting, and further reflected on his career which spans nearly four decades.
As for the next chapter, he won’t be completly lounging.
MacGillivray’s final day is December 31st, with Jodi Empey taking over as Acting Chief of Police on New Years Day.
