The Upper Canada District School Board continues to move towards electronic report cards for the next school year through their online portal, My Family Room.
Over 20,000 parents and guardians already have an MFR account, which makes the decision to publish the report cards on the portal an easy one.
Ward 10 Trustee Corina Parisien is on board with the idea based on her personal experience.
The board’s identified a number of benefits through its exploration process which began in May, including an estimated 60% decrease in staff workload in relation to report cards, on top of an environmental benefit and consumable cost decrease.
The board’s IT Services Manager Jim Guerin says MFR is the perfect place to put these report cards as it’s already well-used.
They’ll also will be working with schools to accommodate non-digital families with traditional report cards.
