Drummond/North Elmsley approved their 2024 budget last month.
It’s a 4% tax rate increase for their residents, a figure Reeve Steve Fournier can live with in today’s climate.
He says a lot of the money taxes bring in each year goes right back out the door to pay for necessary services.
There’s some big ticket expense items next year for DNE like a pair of $375,000 plow trucks, and a cost-shared fire truck with Tay Valley Township.
Fournier says they rely heavily on provincial and federal grants and are lucky to have strong relationships with both levels of government.
