‘The 48’: Here’s what’s happening in the next two days

Here is a few things to look for over the next 48 hours in our region.

STUFF TO DO

Listen Today: The Lake 88 Christmas Kitchen Party is back for another year! Join your hosts Dave White and Stan Munro as they welcome talented local musicians to celebrate the Christmas season. It goes until noon today. 

Today and Tomorrow: The Salvation Army is in need of Kettle volunteers in Perth and Smiths Falls. If you can help call 613-283-3563 for Smiths Falls and 613-285-4338 for Perth 

Tomorrow Morning: On All About the House tomorrow morning at 8, we welcome Carolin Turner of the Holstein Association of Canada to talk about the state of dairy farming across the country. Brian Turner’s your host. 

Also Tomorrow: Straight out of Mount Crumpit, The Grinch will be appearing at SIMPLY4PAWS, at 12 Mill Street in the Heritage Mall Almonte, tomorrow from 9:30 til 1. Get your photo with Mr. Grinch before he’s gone!

Local Sports: Support our teams!

Get your Junior fix! In CCHL play, the Smiths Falls Bears head to Hawkesbury at 7:30 tonight, while the Carleton Place Canadians are in Rockland, also at 7:30. Then…. Christmas Break! The season resumes January 4th.

In the EOJHL The Smiths Falls Jr. Bears visit the Perth Blue Wings at 7:30 in a battle of the number 2 and 4 teams in the Richardson Division. Then tomorrow, Perth welcomes the Carleton Place Jr. Canadians at 7:30. The league then breaks for the holidays. Play resumes January 2nd.

And we have the Ottawa Senators tomorrow who are licking their wounds from a tough road trip. They’ll be hosting Pittsburgh in Jacques Martin and Daniel Alfredsson’s first home game behind the bench since taking oer the coaching duties. Game time is 7:00 on Lake 88.
