There was a lot of conversation around a pair of topics in Drummond/North Elmsley in 2023.
Reeve Steve Fournier took some time to reflect on them and provide a bit of an update on both the proposed gun range and Furry Tales Cat Rescue’s expansion efforts.
Council denied the zoning amendment in April that would’ve allowed a commercial gun range on Rideau Ferry Road, after initially receiving the application in late 2022.
Since then, Fournier says it’s been in the hands of the Ontario Land Tribunal.
Fournier says a significant amount of staff time and resources went into that matter, as well as the Furry Tales Cat Rescue rezoning application.
Fournier provided a quick update on that file.
The town says the owners built a large shed in an effort to expand their services without the required permits and they need those to move forward, or revert back to their original operation.
