The Smiths Falls Community Improvement Plan is expanding.
Council is allocating $150,000 towards the program this year, up from $100,000 a year ago, and applications can be filed if they fit under one of 15 categories.

At a meeting earlier this month, Planning Clerk Mary Remmig outlined the deadline set for businesses to complete their work in order to receive the funds.
15 funding commitments were made in 2023, all but one deemed small-scaled projects and one large with the bulk around downtown businesses.
