Smiths Falls council discussing the recommendations
Smiths Falls is entering a service agreement with Lanark County for regional tourism marketing initiatives the county handles.
As they’re a single-tier municipality outside of the county scope, Manger of Economic Development & Tourism Julia Crowder says they don’t currently have a say on marketing direction.
The town does have a long-standing services agreement with the county on various fronts, and this will be another.
It’s welcoming news, says Councillor Stephen Robinson.
The committee agreed to buy into the marketing services for 12 months at the cost of $5,000.
