The provincial government has launched a new long-term care home investigations unit.
The 10-person unit will be used to investigate the 11 offences listed under the Fixing Long-Term Care Act.
Minister of Long-Term Care Stan Cho went over what a few of those charges are.
The province invested $72.3 million into this team which completed 19 weeks of training which included field experience, in-class lessons and self-study modules.
Cho says if you’re cutting corners, you will be caught.
The investigators are designated as Provincial Offences Officers and while work in conjunction with the existing inspection programs.
