Rideau Valley Conservation Foundation Executive Director Diane Downey.
Diane Downey recently appeared on In Focus to discuss the importance of the work they do at the Rideau Valley Conservation Foundation.
Downey is the foundation’s executive director, with the group focusing on fundraising, securing and maintaining land inside the 4,000 square kilometers covered through the RVCA.
She says there’s lots of benefits to land donation both morally and otherwise.
Generally, donations were mostly wetland, forests, and shorelines.
But recently, the foundation’s Executive Director Diane Downey says there’s been a bit of a shift of the donations they’re seeing and appraising.
If you’d like to help out but don’t have any land to donate you can make a donation to the foundation’s Steve Simmering Conservation endowment fund to help them cover the costs that come with owning land.
