Premier Doug Ford says he doesn’t want to raise tuition for post-secondary students, even though a panel has recommended the move.
Tuition has been frozen since 2019 for students across the province. Locally students at Algonquin College haven’t seen an increase since then.
Now a government-commissioned “blue-ribbon panel” recommends the province unfreeze tuition, raise student aid and increase operating grants to the schools.
The province says it will work with the schools to find efficiencies instead.
