It’s a non-starter for electric vehicle chargers in Perth.
Council defeated a proposal from town staff who sought to apply for $450,000 of provincial grant funding that would go towards the total $600,000 cost to install four EV stations at the museum parking lot.
Smiths Falls council recently decided to move ahead with its own application.
Perth council however had questions on how the town could generate enough usage to pay for the difference.
At the end of a prolonged discussion, the motion was defeated.
