A plan to expropriate almost 100 acres of farmland on Townline Road owned by the Southwell family is on hold, after a discussion at Carleton Place Council Tiesday night.
After receiving some negative public feedback on their unanimously-passed committee motion to expropriate 98 acres, councilors called for a pause when it came time to ratify that decision.
They voted to defer any bylaw action until negotiations with the owners were completed.
No timelines was formally announced, but discussion pointed to at least two months from now.
