The Upper Canada District School Board is discontinuing remote learning for the 2024-25 school year.
The reasoning is simple: There’s not enough students opting to learn this way to justify the resources.
Principal of Digital Learning Brian Reid went over the numbers for the four multi-grade classes offered for elementary students across the board.
There’s 28 secondary students currently enrolled in remote learning. All e-learning courses will remain in place.
The UCDSB has about 27,000 students across their 78 schools, and say they’re confident they’ll be able to meet the needs for remote-learning students in-person.
