March Break is right around the corner and the health unit says with a surge in mesles cases world-wide, anyone travelling should make sure they’re covered.
Leeds Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit Medical Officer of Health Dr. Linna Li explains the number one thing we can do to protect ourselves.
Manager of Clinical Services, Jennifer Adams says the health unit is ready to help families get ready to travel safely.
You can call 1-800-660-5853 ext. 2313 or email ImmunizationNursingSupport@healthunit.org to get assessed by a health unit nurse.
Adams says if you start to show symptoms like fever, aches, red eyes, runny nose and severe cough on the way home, notify a flight attendant or another travel official.
If you show symptoms once you return, she says contact your family healthcare provider right away.
