Public Health Ontario has so far confirmed five cases of measles in the province and said that all but one involved travel.
Our medical officer of health Dr. Linna Li says it’s a global issue.
There are now 17 cases across the country. Dr. Li says vaccine numbers are down, thanks to the pandemic.
The Doctor says measles is so infectious, that once we give and inch, transmission can really surge.
So far, there are no cases in Leeds Grenville or Lanark. Cases have popped up in Quebec and BC in addition to Ontario.
