The Smiths Falls Police Services Board passed its 2024 Strategic Plan Wednesday.
There were public consultations throughout the process and 180 residents filled out the online survey.
Board member Jennifer Aunger-Ritchie shared her thoughts.
This passing comes just before the new changes to the province’s Community Safety and Policing Act come into effect Monday (Apr. 1).
Some board members felt the timing may be a bit off but the bones of a good plan are in place, and whatever tweaks that may have to be made to remain compliant with the new Act will follow.
