Maple Weekend is almost upon us, when Maple syrup producers in Lanark gear up for the biggest maple festival in Ontario, a fun, free, family-friendly event celebrating the harvest of one of Ontario’s sweetest crops.
Leann Thompson is the Chair of the Committee that brings it to us. She says it’s been around a few years now.
Audio PlayerVisitors will experience the best of maple syrup season when they stop by a local producer. It will be different at each site, but you can expect some classics like taffy on snow, pancake breakfasts, and sugar making demonstrations.
Thompson says it’s also an interesting, educating day.
Audio PlayerIt runs from 10-4 on both days at 14 Sugar Bushes across our region.
