Smiths Falls council awarded the water tower tender to Landmark Structures to the tune of $9.6 million.
Council has slated $5.1 million for the work in 2025, having already set aside about $4.7 million over the past two years.
The company is a leader in this field, and the town knows they’ll be getting quality work, says Public Works Director Paul McMunn.
The expected lifespan of the water tower is between 80 to 100 years with McMunn believing a robust maintenance plan could ensure the town reaches the century mark.
No timeline on construction has been set.
