A soft patch in the goalie crease caused Game 5 of the Smiths Falls Bears playoff game against Cornwall to be postponed last Friday.
Director of Community Services Stephanie Clark said ice issues are more common with warmer temperatures, on top of some of their equipment not operating at full capacity.
She says they’re taking every measure to ensure it won’t happen again.
Clark said they’re increasing check-ins to keep better tabs on the ice condition.
The Bears are returning to the Smiths Falls Memorial Community Centre for Game 2 of the Bogart Cup Finals Sunday evening at 5 p.m.
