St. Paul’s United Church in Perth is hosting the Governor General’s Foot Guards Band this Sunday at 2.
We caught up with St. Paul’s Music Director Brad Mills who tells us they’ll be familiar to many.
And Mills says the tie between military and music is strong in our country.
The band will be up with its full complement of brass, woodwinds, and more.
They’ll perform some standard, and a set that honours the 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Airforce. There’s something for everyone as they even play some Disney classics for the kids.
Speaking of younger generation, Mills says they hope to make it a celebration of our armed forces and are inviting some special guests to come out.
The band will have exta uniforms on hand after the performance so kids can get some great pictures with the musicians.
It all takes place Sunday the 28th at St. Paul’s United Church on Gore Street in Perth at 2 PM. It’ a free concert but donations are accepted.
