Fresh off its success with Earth Fest, the Carleton Place Environmental Advisory Committee presents: Growing Food in Urban Environments – A Talk with Celebrated Author Lorraine Johnson.
The event is coming up Thursday, May 2nd, from 7PM to 830PM in the Bob Rintoul Hall (upstairs) at the Carleton Place Arena (75 Neelin Street).
Lorraine explores diverse, inspiring, and unusual ways to grow food in the urban environment.
Her green thumb touches everything from front yards and boulevards to rooftops and public spaces (such as parks and community gardens)- making food a productive adventure.
Lorraine Johnson has been researching and writing about environmental issues for three decades. She is author or editor of 14 books, including 100 Easy-to-Grow Native Plants for Canadian Gardens.
She’ll share her knowledge verbally, but for the hard core, Lorraine will be signing her books, which are also available for purchase.
