The Smiths Falls Police Service attended the area near Chimo Elementary School on Tuesday morning to investigate a “potential threat in the community.”
Under an abundance of caution, schools were placed in hold and secure.
The SFPS say there was no direct threat to students or staff at any point.
Police investigated the matter which they say was resolved quickly without incident.
No arrests were made and the hold and secure was lifted after 25 minutes.
