Carebridge Community’s 34 affordable units have opened up at 44 Chamber Streets in Smiths Falls.
It’s been a long time coming for the project but the grand opening took place Thursday, with Minister of Families Children and Social Development Jenna Sudds on hand with other local dignitaries.
She says housing invites a sense of security and stability.
Lanark County Warden Steve Fournier made prepared remarks.
Also on hand was Mayor Shawn Pankow, CEO of Carebridge Communities Robert Eaves, and several other local dignitaries.
Twenty-eight of the units will be rent-geared-to-income while the remainder will be below market value.
