The Emotional Baggage Art exhibition is now underway in Carleton Place at the Carleton Place Collective for Mental Health, and the Art Factory in Renfrew to raise awareness for mental health month.
The five-week rotating show seeks to demonstrate the diverse perspectives and expressions that shed light on the spectrum of emotions, experiences, and challenges associated with mental health through art.
The Collective’s Terrilee Kelford told myFM, they’ve been working on the connection between art and mental health for awhile now.
Kelford says the exhibition will include selected artworks by close to 30 local artists along with talks and activities provided by mental health professionals and artists alike.
As for other artists, Kelford says they worked diligently to chose who would show pieces.
