The OPP say its never never too early to think about summer safety.
They are reminding us that it is never safe to leave children or pets in a hot car.
It may sound like common sense but there are reports of children and pets dying in hot cars in our province every year.
Don’t even leave them for a few minutes. The first few minutes are when temperatures rise the most dramatically.
If you see children or animals in a hot car, call police right away.
If it seems like lives are in danger, always call 9-1-1.
They also note that many electric vehicles do have a “pet mode” which does keep the car cool inside.
