The OPP East Region say there’s an ongoing police operation on Lake Avenue East in Carleton Place.
Few details have been released but police say the incident is contained, and there’s “no immediate threat to public safety.”
Neighbours in the immediate area are advised to remain indoors and anyone else should avoid the region.
Lake Avenue is closed until further notice.
2:41 PM Update: The incident remains contained, but OPP continues to request that people avoid the area. Schools in the immediate area will be dismissing students as usual.
3:28 PM: Police say the situation has been resolved without incident. The area is being cleared and Lake Avenue will be reopened.
