Police Week in Ontario (May 12 to 18) is a time to honor the dedicated men and women who serve on the front lines of law enforcement.
The Smiths Falls Police Service, alongside the Lanark County OPP and Leeds OPP, proudly stands with police services across the country to mark this important occasion.
Under the theme “Join Policing: Keep Ontario Safe,” Police Week underscores the crucial role of police officers, 9-1-1 communicators, and other professionals in safeguarding communities. It emphasizes how citizens can actively contribute to ensuring Ontario’s safety by considering a career in law enforcement.
This week serves as a reminder of the sacrifices and commitments made by police members, coinciding with the Peace Officers Memorial Day on May 15. Since 1970, Police Week has united Ontario police services and communities to honor and celebrate the remarkable contributions of law enforcement personnel.
Let us take this opportunity to recognize and appreciate the unwavering dedication of our officers and police professionals who work tirelessly to protect and serve our communities every day.
