At the Beckwith Township Council meeting on Tuesday, May 21st, Reeve Richard Kidd gave Alison Tremblay the “Be There and Be Positive” award.
This award was for her recent win in the black belt super heavy class at the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship in Las Vegas.
Alison, who trains at Alpha MMA club in Carleton Place, has won five Pan IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu No-Gi Championships, more than any other athlete, male or female. She has also volunteered at the club for over ten years, teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to hundreds of local kids.
When she’s not training, Alison works as a police officer with the Ottawa Police department.
