Tay Valley Township is excited to reveal the newly upgraded Otty Lake Boat Launch. The site now features an information kiosk, a bench by the water, a dock, and more parking.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the start of the boating season. Reeve Rob Rainer, Deputy Reeve Fred Dobbie, Councillors Wayne Baker, Greg Hallam, Angela Pierman, members of the Otty Lake Association, and local residents attended the event.
The boat launch, which is free to use, has been a beloved spot for generations, offering opportunities for boating, fishing, paddling, and summer fun.
“We are delighted to improve the Otty Lake boat launch,” said Reeve Rainer. “These enhancements provide better access and help visitors learn about the lake’s heritage.”
The Township thanks the Government of Canada for the dock grant, Lanark County for the $5,000 tourism grant, the Otty Lake Association for its $500 contribution and kiosk content, and Stan Strickland for building the kiosk.
The boat launch at 141 Miller Bay Road also has an accessible washroom available in season.
