The playground equipment from Mill Street in Perth is getting a new home in Prescott.
Earlier this year, proposals were invited to remove and rehome the playground equipment.
After careful review, the contract was awarded to the Town of Prescott, which recently opened a new arena complex and is developing the surrounding property into an outdoor recreation area.
The Town of Perth received a grant for playground replacement, allowing them to move forward with installing new equipment.
The existing equipment, which still has a few years of use left, will benefit Prescott as they enhance their recreational spaces while managing their budget. A plaque will be placed in Prescott, acknowledging Perth’s generosity.
Mill Street has been closed to traffic today as the equipment is carefully removed.
