We are taking a look at another of the recommendations from the jury in the inquest into ending Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) in Ontario.
Number 72 is again directed to the Chief Firearms Officer.
It would require Possession and Acquisition License (PAL) applicants and holders to report to the CFO in a timely manner any change in information provided in application and renewal forms, including when an individual with weapons restrictions comes to reside in their home.
Lanark County Interval House Executive Director Erin Lee has been examining each recommendation for us. She says that offenders are presented with an opportunity.
When offenders are misusing their cycle that’s rooted in power and control, they don’t pause to think how it would affect others. Some may not even disclose that they have PAL’s to people they’re staying with.
