Five more Ontario school boards and two private schools have joined a lawsuit against Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat, claiming their addictive designs burden educators.
This follows similar lawsuits in March by some of Ontario’s largest school boards, alleging the platforms’ compulsive designs harm children’s behavior and learning.
Premier Doug Ford criticized the initial lawsuits, and Education Minister Stephen Lecce said the government prefers to “collaborate with these enterprises.”
