Lanark County Public Works has designated two construction zones in Lanark County, effective from May 27 to June 30, 2024. In these zones, the speed limit is reduced from 80 km/h to 60 km/h.
The zones are as follows:
- County Road 10 (Scotch Line Road) from Stanleyville Road to Glen Tay Side Road
- County Road 6 (Christie Lake Road) from Cameron Side Road to Bathurst 2nd Concession
These zones aim to enhance the safety and well-being of workers and motorists. According to the Highway Traffic Act, municipalities can designate construction zones and double fines for speeding when workers are present. Designated construction zones must be marked with signs in accordance with regulations.
