Kayle Osborne, a 22-year-old goalie from Westport, has been drafted 29th overall by the New York team in the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL). Osborne currently plays for Colgate University, where she has been a standout player.
Osborne will reunite with Greg Fargo, her head coach at Colgate, who is now the head coach of the New York team. She is expected to challenge Corinne Schroeder, who is likely to re-sign as the starting goalie for next season.
Osborne has been selected to Canada’s National Women’s Team for the Rivalry Series against the United States on December 14 and 16. She is also an Olympic hopeful.
During her time at Colgate, Osborne played 88 games since her debut on November 20, 2020, against Syracuse. She has a .927 save percentage, a 1.64 goals-against average (GAA), 5,109:24 minutes played, a 61-20-4 record, 13 shutouts, and 2 assists. Osborne’s impressive stats and experience make her a promising addition to the New York PWHL team.
