Smiths Falls Police arrested an Ottawa man after a downtown altercation.
Police received multiple calls in relation to a domestic incident taking place at a Lombard Street parking lot.
An investigation revealed a male was attempting to forcibly confine the female in a vehicle and had assaulted her.
SFPS located and arrested the 27-year-old after he fled the scene on foot and he’s now facing five charges including assault with a weapon.
