Environment Canada has issued a Heat Warning for the 88.1 myFM listening area as the heat in Lanark and Leeds is expected to be relentless over the next few days.
Daytime highs are expected to hit as high as 33 degrees Celsius, with the humidity making it feel like the low 40s. Even at night, the temperatures stay high, barely dropping below 23.
If possible, please stay in a cool area. You can stay inside using fans and air conditioners to stay cool.
The air quality is getting worse, and the Air Quality Health Index nearing the high-risk category. Older adults, babies, pregnant women, and those with illnesses are the most affected and at risk in high-heat situations.
We will provide updates on the forecast throughout the day and the week.
