The Health Unit continues to watch out for our health as the heatwave rolls on.
Leeds Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit Medical Officer of Health Dr. Linna Li says we need to be able to recognize when someone is suffering from heat exposure.
She says some can suffer headaches and confusion, sweat stopping, and a rise in body temperature. The Dr. says if those sympotoms present themselves, get hydrated and seek medical attention.
Dr. li adds that’s not all you should be looking out for, especially when it comes to those most vulnerable.
And remember to check in on the elderly frequently to make sure they’re dealing with the sweltering conditions.
The bottom line is, if you’re feeling ill – don’t risk it. Get help.
